Ahead of a big test next month, first responders and others in La Salle County tested their level of readiness when it comes to a nuclear power plant emergency.

Every two years, first responders and units of government surrounding the La Salle Nuclear Power Station near Marseilles are required to conduct an exercise of their emergency response plans. On Tuesday, several of these response groups performed a test run before they're graded Tuesday, November 19th.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency, or FEMA, will evaluate the emergency response and make their findings available to the public on November 22nd at the La Salle County EMA building in Ottawa. That meeting will start at 11 o'clock.
